Short
Aaron Wells is a real estate and news photographer based in Queen Creek, Arizona, and a product architect who directs AI-assisted development by specification rather than by writing code. He started in the news business in 1989 at a local newspaper, when production meant paste-up and pica rules, and has worked through every media technology transition since. He is an ARMLS Certified Photographer and an FAA Part 107 remote pilot. His news photography is distributed by Getty Images and Shutterstock.
Long
Aaron Wells is a photographer and product architect in Queen Creek, Arizona. Through Aaron Wells Photography, founded in 2012, he photographs residential and commercial listings throughout Arizona for agents, brokerages and corporate housing providers: HDR interiors and exteriors, aerial photography and video as an FAA Part 107 remote pilot, twilight work, 360-degree tours, LiDAR floor plans and virtual staging. He is an ARMLS Certified Photographer, licensed to upload media directly to listings.
He also builds the platforms the business runs on, directing AI-assisted development by written specification and verifying every change against live systems before accepting it. That work includes the company website, a self-service admin panel, mlsvideos.com, a self-hosted platform delivering listing video without the branding MLS rules prohibit, and a self-hosted analytics stack. In January 2026 he founded BLUFify Media LLC, which built an automated news-briefing platform applying U.S. intelligence community analytic standards to open-source news; the platform operated through May 2026 and is paused.
Wells started in the news business in 1989, at 16, at a local newspaper, and has worked through every media technology transition since: desktop publishing, the web, digital capture and now AI. His career includes accounting at Rockwell International’s space and defense division through its sale to Boeing, communications and technology management for the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce, bookkeeping for a Hawaii disability services provider, and twelve years as a Certified Professional Résumé Writer. His news photography, including coverage of election protests and the U.S. border, is distributed by Getty Images and Shutterstock. Earlier work in Seattle ran on KOMO, KING 5, KIRO 7, Q13 FOX and in USA Today, and the City of Burien put one of his photographs on the cover of its 2017 spring recreation guide.

Style notes
- Second reference: Wells.
- “Product architect” is his term for directing software development by specification. He is not a software engineer and prefers not to be described as one.
- BLUFify is spelled with a capital B, L, U and F. It never had paying customers, and he says so.
- He photographs throughout Arizona; “the Phoenix area” undersells it.
